CMU Faculty/Staff Listserv
Listservs have been set up to facilitate electronic communications with the various employee groups. These lists are primarily for messages to the employee in regards to wages, benefits, and other employment related matters.
General news items should be sent to the all staff digest at CMUToday@cmich.edu. For instructions, see http://www.cmich.edu/public-relations/announce.htm
Listserv Guidelines
- Email may only be submitted by university employees and must relate to official university business. Solicitation messages, non-university related notices, and notices of events (open houses, etc.) will not be sent on the listserv.
- The Human Resources/Faculty Personnel Services offices reserve the opportunity to edit or reject email or to defer email to CMUToday@cmich.edu
- After the email is reviewed, the email will be authorized for distribution to the employee group, or the sender will be contacted.
- One email will be sent each weekday if email is received. Emergency email may be sent on rare occasions. Emergency email will only be used for real university emergencies or urgent messages.
- Information submitted by 4 p.m. on weekdays may be included in the next weekday's email.
- One short reminder notice will be allowed providing it has been at least 10 days since the original notice.
- Remember that not all employees have email or use it regularly.

- The subject line of the email must be the first line of the message.
- Email must include the following information for the person submitting the message: name, department or office name, campus phone number, and email address. A signature file may be used as a substitute for the submission information if it contains all the information requirements listed above.
- Double check all dates, times and locations included in your email.
How to send an emergency email
- Send an emergency email to the address of the group you are trying to reach from the chart above.
- Call the Human Resources or Faculty Personnel Services office immediately, phone 1605 or 3368 respectively, to notify the office that you have sent an emergency email.
