Employee Groups
The University has labor agreements with six of the nine employee groups. Click here for a list of employee group representatives. Additional information can be found under the individual groups.
There are 39 Senior Officers, and approximately 338 Temporary Faculty which are non-unionized.
Regular Faculty (approx. 635) are represented by the Central Michigan University Faculty Association.
There are 736 Professional and Administrative employees classified using a broad band approach into one of six pay bands. This group is non-unionized. See Classification Listing and Salary/Wage Schedule.
- Office Professional employees: The contract CMU has with the UAW covers approximately 331 support staff and office professional positions. See Classification Listing and Wage Schedule.
- Police Officers: The contract that CMU has with POAM covers 15 patrol officers. See Classification Listing and Wage Schedule.
- Public Broadcasting employees: The contract CMU has with NABET covers approximately 28 employees in CMU's Public Broadcasting department. See Classification Listing and Wage Schedule.
- Supervisory Technical employees: The contract CMU has with the MEA-NEA covers approximately 124 employees across a wide range of supervisory technical positions from the office supervisor to supervisors of skilled trades. See Classification Listing and Wage Schedule.
- Service Maintenance employees: The contract CMU has with AFSCME covers approximately 196 employees such as custodial, groundskeepers, skilled trades, warehouse workers and others. See Classification Listing and Wage Schedule.
