What needs to be done:

  • Submit your notice of retirement in writing to your supervisor.  You must provide notice to your department within the appropriate time designated in your employee group contract/handbook to ensure proper payoffs.
  • If you are receiving any additional payoffs (vacation payoff, retirement service award, sick leave if applicable, etc.), you may want to consider contributing these payoffs to a supplemental retirement account to save on taxes.  Contact the Benefits & Wellness office at 989-774-3661 to discuss your options.

1 Month:

  • Contact the Payroll office (989-774-3481) to make arrangements for your final paycheck. Your final check will be ready on your date of retirement.
