Amy McGinnis, SPHR

Amy McGinnis is the Director of Strategy & Organizational Development in Human Resources at Central Michigan University.
She has a bachelor of arts degree in English from Alma College and a master of arts degree in English, with an emphasis in community college teaching, from Michigan State University.
Before joining CMU, Amy worked at Lansing Community College as a part-time faculty member, an administrator, and also as an office professional. As Director of Strategy & OD, Amy develops and presents workshops in a variety of topics from business writing and goal setting to diversity, leadership, and strategic planning. She is also involved in coaching and consulting with departments and individuals on training and development needs.
Amy is certified with Franklin Covey, Achieve Global/Zenger Miller, the Association for Psychological Type, the National Coalition Building Institute, and True Colors. She is a charter member of the CMU Toastmasters Club, and she has received a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management. In 2008, Amy received a Top Young Trainer award from Training Magazine.
Harley Blake

Harley Blake is the Assistant Director/Strategy & Organizational Development in Human Resources at Central Michigan University.
He received his bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan. He also has a master’s degree in Education from Wheaton Graduate School, where he specialized in the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs.
Before coming to CMU in 2005, Harley has worked as a corporate trainer and a director of adventure programs. He has over 25 years of experience in developing and delivering educational programming in a wide variety of settings. He has presented workshops at the state, national, and international level on such topics as performance management, employee opinion surveys, perception, facilitation, experiential learning, project management and the finer art of frog catching.
Nate Holmes
Nate Holmes is the Human Resources Assistant in the Human Resources department at Central Michigan University.
He holds an associate’s degree in Business Management from North Central Michigan College, a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Central Michigan University, and is currently working towards his MBA from Central Michigan University.
Nate joined the HR team in 2006. He enjoys volunteering for the CMU student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Business Professionals of America (BPA).
