Tammy Griffin, M.A.

Tammy Griffin

Tammy is the Manager of Employee Health & Wellness in Human Resources at Central Michigan University. She has been a member of the CHIP staff since October 1989. 
Tammy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Western Michigan University and a Master of Arts degree in Exercise Science from Michigan State University. She is a certified American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Health/Fitness Instructor. 
Before joining CMU, Tammy was the Health Promotion/Disease Prevention Coordinator for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe (now the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Nation).  As Manager of Employee Health & Wellness, Tammy oversees the daily operations of the CHIP facility and Workers’ Compensation program and administers and coordinates the CMU Employee Wellness Program. 











Bill Weaver

Bill Weaver

Bill has been at the CHIP Facility as a certified athletic trainer and ergonomics specialist since 1987. Bill has an undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine and a Masters of Arts in Health Administration both from Central Michigan University. Prior to coming to the CHIP Facility Bill worked as a certified athletic trainer in the industrial setting for Delfield Corporation located in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.








Straum Yorton

Straum Yorton

Straum is a Certified Athletic Trainer at CHIP.  He has been a member of the CHIP staff since August 1992.  Straum has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University.












Brenda Hoyle

Brenda Hoyle

Brenda is the secretary at the Central Health Improvement Program / Worker’s Compensation Office in Human Resources at Central Michigan University. Brenda has been a member of the CHIP staff since July, 1987, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from CMU.  Her responsibilities include scheduling appointments for C.H.I.P. rehabilitation clients, records management, processing workers’ compensation injury reports, and assisting with wellness programs. 









Brandon Schultz

Brandon Schultz

Brandon is a 2004 CMU graduate earning a Bachelor of Applied arts degree, with a double major in Health and Fitness in Preventative and Rehabilitative Programs and Entrepreneurship. After graduating he worked primarily as an ACE certified personal Trainer working with clients one on one as well as in group settings. After working for 2 years at a hospital based facility in Flint, Brandon was employed by the YMCA in Grand Rapids prior to coming to CMU. "My training philosophy is a simple one," Brandon states, "plan and commit and the lifestyle change will be imminent."
