C.H.I.P. Facility Fitness Program
It is the mission of the C.H.I.P. Fitness Program to provide a safe and effective exercise program for all eligible CMU employees, retirees, and their spouses. The program is staffed by a nationally certified Health/Fitness Instructor, a Health/Fitness Leader and CMU Health/Fitness interns, all qualified to design an exercise program to meet your needs!
Our 1800 sq. ft. facility houses clean, well-maintained state-of -the-art equipment that includes:
- TreadmillsCMU Walking Routes
- Rower
- Stationary Bikes
- Recumbent Bike
- Elliptical Trainer
- StairMaster (stair climbing machine)
- Sci-Fit All Body Ergometer (ABE)
- Stretching machine
- Nautilus and Cybex Weight Training Equipment
Locker and shower facilities are available to participants. Lockers may be rented for $2 per month.
Eligibility:
The CHIP Facility is available to employees, retirees and spouses of employees/retirees who meet the following criteria:
- Regular or provisional staff at least half-time and their spouses
- Regular or temporary faculty at least half-time and their spouses
- CMU retirees and their spouses
Hours:
During the regular school year (fall and spring semesters), the CHIP Facility is open for fitness from 6am to 7pm Monday through Thursday and from 6am to 6pm on Friday. Summer hours (first Monday of June until first week of Fall semester) are 6am to 6pm Monday through Friday. The CHIP Facility closes on several national holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following and Christmas Day).
